Match the Platform to the Site, Not the Site to the Platform

This is what's stocked for access control: from LenelS2's enterprise-grade platforms down to ELK Products' compact security-and-automation controllers, plus the cloud-native and mid-market options that sit between them. Every recommendation below is scoped to what we can actually install, integrate, and support — not just what's on the shelf.

Portal basics

How an Order Moves Through the Portal

The catalog below is what you're browsing. Placing an order follows the same path whether it's a two-door office suite or a multi-building campus with a badge office of its own.

Assess & Recommend
Assess & Recommend

Door count, site count, and how the business is likely to grow all point toward one platform tier over another. We recommend a fit before quoting a specific brand, not after.

Quote & Approve
Quote & Approve

The portal returns current pricing for controllers, readers, credentials, and any software licensing, plus an install timeline. Orders above your account's threshold route to an approver.

Install & Configure
Install & Configure

Controllers, readers, and door hardware go in; doors are programmed with schedules and access levels before anyone's credential is activated.

Manage & Support
Manage & Support

Self-manage credentials through the platform's console, or hand day-to-day badge management to us. The order links to a support ticket from day one.

Access Control Platforms

Five platforms, five different sweet spots — the badge on each card is our shorthand for who it's actually built for.

LenelS2

Enterprise

OnGuard & NetBox — Honeywell-owned

The platform most large, multi-building organizations already have in some form. OnGuard scales into complex enterprise deployments; NetBox covers the same territory with a lighter, browser-based footprint.

  • Over 200 certified third-party integrations, plus an open API
  • Zero-trust file and credential protectionUnifies video, intrusion alarms, and building systems in one console
  • Elements and OnGuard Cloud add single-tenant, cloud-hosted options

Recommend when: multiple buildings or a campus, an existing security team, or a requirement to integrate with HR systems and other enterprise software already in place.

Genetec Synergis

Enterprise

Unified video + access, one console

Built from the ground up alongside Genetec's video management platform, so access events and camera footage live in the same timeline instead of two systems bolted together after the fact.

  • Open-architecture controller support across multiple hardware manufacturers
  • Access events automatically bookmarked to the camera watching that door
  • Synergis IX adds unified intrusion monitoring alongside access

Recommend when: video surveillance is already ordered or planned alongside access control and one shared console matters more than any single-vendor loyalty.

Brivo

Cloud-native

Multi-site SaaS access control

No on-site server to maintain — Brivo's cloud dashboard manages every door across every location from a browser or mobile app, with local panel intelligence keeping doors working through an internet outage.

  • Remote credential issuing and instant revocation from anywhere
  • Mobile Pass and support for Allegion, dormakaba, and HID mobile credentials
  • Scales from one site to hundreds without a system reinstall

Recommend when: multiple locations with no on-site IT presence, or a preference for zero on-site server hardware to maintain.

Paxton10

Mid-market

Combined access & video, simplified

Access control and video on one controller and one piece of software, aimed squarely at sites that want enterprise-style unification without an enterprise-style install or learning curve.

  • Access and video managed from a single app, on-site or cloud-connected
  • Fast install with minimal configuration compared to enterprise platforms
  • Net2, Paxton's prior line, remains supported for straightforward access-only sites

Recommend when: a single building or small multi-site footprint wants both access and video without standing up a full enterprise platform.

ELK Products

Small business

M1 Gold — security & automation in one panel

A single control board that handles access, intrusion, and light automation together — the right-sized option when a full access control platform would be more system than the site needs.

  • Up to 16 hardwired zones, expandable to 208 with wireless sensors
  • Up to 199 user codes with customizable authorization levels
  • IP, cellular, and landline reporting, with event alerts by phone, email, or text

Recommend when: a small office, retail location, or light-commercial site wants access control bundled with intrusion alarm and basic automation, on one budget-friendly panel.

Migrating off an existing system: Genetec's migration tooling and LenelS2's open API both support bringing an existing door hardware investment forward rather than re-wiring every door on day one — worth raising during the site assessment if a legacy system is already in place.

The layer every platform needs

Credentials & Readers

The platform decides how doors are managed. The credential decides how a person actually gets through one — and this layer is shared across nearly every system above.

HID Global Credentials & Readers

The most widely deployed card and reader ecosystem in commercial access control.

  • Proximity, smart card, and multi-technology reader options
  • HID Mobile Access: phone- and smartwatch-based credentials over Bluetooth and NFC
  • Broad compatibility across LenelS2, Genetec, Brivo, and most other platforms in this catalog

Ordered as: a hardware line item alongside any platform above, sized to door and reader count

Mobile Credentials

A phone instead of a card — fewer physical badges to lose, print, or deactivate.

  • Instant issue and revoke without printing a replacement card
  • Supported across Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, and Paxton10 platforms
  • Touchless, tap-free entry at high-traffic doors

Ordered as: a platform add-on, licensed per user rather than per physical card

Biometric Readers

Fingerprint or facial verification where a lost or shared card is a real risk.

  • Fingerprint and facial-recognition readers for high-security doors
  • Typically paired as a second factor alongside a card or mobile credential
  • Reserved for server rooms, pharmacies, and other sensitive-area doors, not every door on-site

Ordered as: a per-door hardware add-on, scoped during the site assessment

Worth pairing: a door already ordered on the video surveillance catalog can share its camera with the access control platform — Genetec and Paxton10 do this natively, and LenelS2 and Brivo both support it through certified video integrations.

Side by Side

Site size and existing infrastructure usually narrow this down to one or two realistic options.

Terms You'll See in the Catalog

ACS

Access Control System

The combination of software, controllers, readers, and credentials that decides who can open which door, and when.

Controller / Panel

The hardware that receives a credential read and decides whether to unlock the door — the brain behind one door or a group of doors.

Credential

Whatever a person presents to get through a door: a proximity card, a smart card, a mobile phone, or a fingerprint.

REX

Request to Exit

A motion sensor or push button that lets someone leave through a controlled door without triggering a forced-door alarm.

Wiegand / OSDP

The wiring protocols between a reader and a controller. OSDP is the newer, encrypted standard replacing older, unencrypted Wiegand wiring on security-sensitive doors.

Anti-Passback

A rule that blocks a credential from badging into an area twice in a row without badging out first — stops one card being passed back to let a second person in.

Access Level / Schedule

The set of doors a credential can open, and when — a cleaning crew's access level might open every door, but only between 6 and 8 a.m.

Unified vs. Integrated

Unified means access and video are built on one shared platform from the start (Genetec, Paxton10); integrated means two separate systems are connected together after the fact (LenelS2, Brivo, with a certified VMS).

Before You Place a Large Order

Door Hardware and Fire Code Both Matter

Electrified locks, door closers, and fail-safe versus fail-secure configuration all have to satisfy local fire code, not just the access control platform's spec sheet. We check this during the site assessment, not after installation.

Existing Wiring Can Be Reused, or Not

A site already wired for a prior access control system may reuse that cabling with a new controller, or may need a fresh run — this pairs with a structured cabling quote when a rewire is required.

Growth Changes the Right Answer

A platform sized for today's three doors can become the wrong fit at thirty. We factor a realistic two-to-three-year growth estimate into the recommendation, not just the current door count.

Credential Format Compatibility

Cards issued under an old system don't always work with a new reader technology. We confirm credential compatibility before a platform swap, so badges don't need to be reissued on day one.
